Masco Celebrates International Women’s Day
On March 8, our enterprise celebrated International Women’s Day with a virtual presentation by Yai Vargas, Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at our nonprofit partner Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility. Yai spoke to employees across our family of companies about how we can accelerate women’s equality by practicing inclusion and self-advocacy in the workplace.
The session also recognized a dozen women across Masco, one nominated from each business unit, for outstanding leadership and impact in their organization during 2022. As a further acknowledgment of the important achievements of these honorees, Masco is donating $5,000 to the Manufacturers Alliance Foundation to support a unique study on “Breaking Through the Glass Ceiling: Stories and Insights on Women’s Growing Leadership in Manufacturers.” The research from this project will provide insights into notable trends in the manufacturing sector, advice for next-generation female managers, and strategies to help companies recruit and develop a pipeline of women leaders.
In his introductory remarks, executive sponsor Imran Ahmad, Group President- Decorative Architectural Products, stated, “Equity is not just something we say. It’s not just something we write about. It’s something we need to think about, know, and act on.” Thank you to all the employees who attended the event as we marked an important day, and to the dozen female honorees who have created exceptional impact for our workforce.
