Masco Employees Learn from “Human Library”

This summer, over 500 employees from across Masco’s US business units participated in virtual gatherings with volunteers from the Human Library, an international nonprofit group designed to challenge stigma and stereotypes by creating safe spaces for dialogue. Human Library volunteers act as human “books,” sharing their life stories and personal experiences and answering questions from participants who may not feel comfortable asking these questions in other settings.

The Human Library’s quest to help people learn to “unjudge someone” aligns with Masco’s goal to foster vulnerable conversations as a tool for creating more inclusive workplaces. Thanks to all the “books” who took the time to share their stories with our employees and spark important conversations about diversity, prejudice, and unconscious bias!
