Housing Partner Spotlight: Coburn Place

Masco’s deep commitment to providing safe and affordable homes for people facing hardships comes to life in many ways. Some involve supporting organizations we all know and appreciate, like Habitat for Humanity. Others take the form of support for small organizations doing good work in their local communities. One of these smaller partners making a big impact is Indianapolis-based Coburn House, with a mission is to empower people affected by interpersonal abuse.

Coburn Place is housed in former Indianapolis Public School 66, which closed in the late 1970s. After extensive remodeling, the building’s former classrooms are now welcoming apartments that serve as transitional housing for those seeking a safe home. For more than five years, Delta Faucet Company has sponsored at least one fully-furnished apartment to help with the goal of breaking the cycle of abuse by creating stronger people, stronger families and – ultimately – stronger communities.

This year, Delta Faucet Company’s Women in Leadership Business Resource Group (BRG) is partnering with Coburn Place at the Freedom Circle sponsorship level. “As a group, we’re excited to join the company’s ongoing service to the residents of Coburn Place in 2021,” said Michelle Gilbert, Customer Master Analyst and Women in Leadership member. “Our partners there truly appreciate the apartment sponsorship and financial support, and share our excitement about our elevated time volunteering and helping where needed. Coburn House operates on the premise that ‘Everyone deserves a safe home,’ and we’re honored to be able to help make that happen.”
