Liberty Hardware Participates in 2020 Habitat “Women Build”

On Saturday, March 7, employees from our Liberty Hardware company rolled up their sleeves to participate in the Liberty-sponsored Habitat for Humanity Women Build in High Point, NC, in honor of International Women’s Day. Over 500 homes were built and repaired worldwide during 2020’s International Women Build Week.

Gail Jacobson, Liberty’s VP of Marketing, says, “It was a wonderful experience to see the teams of women working together on helping to build a house. My team worked on building wall frames. We were all working outside of our comfort zone, but everyone was up for the challenge to learn and apply new skills, to work hard and support each other.

“A special part of the day was when we each wrote a heart-felt message for the new homeowners on the wall frames. Those messages of blessings and caring will be part of the history of that home and family. Thank you to my teammates and to Habitat for Humanity for all the good that you do for our communities.”

Great job to the Liberty volunteers, and we look forwarding to continuing Masco’s long tradition of service with Habitat for Humanity for decades to come!

Masco Helps Welcomes New Refugee Neighbors to Southeast MI

In 2023, Masco partnered with the nonprofit Samaritas and St. John’s Episcopal Church in Plymouth, Michigan, to turn a vacant colonial house on the St. John’s property into a home for resettling refugee families coming to the Great Lakes State. With capacity to fit up to eight people, the home will serve one family at a time; when the residing family is on their feet and ready to move into their own place, another refugee family in need will take over occupancy of the Plymouth house.
