Masco Donates to Local Women’s Shelter

Last month, Masco was proud to donate $25,000 to the SafeHouse Center in Ann Arbor, MI. SafeHouse provides support for those impacted by domestic violence or sexual assault, a threat that is more critical and pervasive than ever in the face the coronavirus pandemic.

In addition to offering free and confidential services for any person victimized that lives or works in Washtenaw County, their services include emergency shelter for those in danger of being hurt or killed, counseling, legal advocacy and support groups. The shelter has 20 bedrooms and 50 beds. Families and individuals have their own room and are rarely required to share a room. SafeHouse also provides three meals per day, toiletries, and other daily essentials such as diapers and laundry detergent.

Tara Mahoney, Board President of SafeHouse and member of Masco Corporation’s Legal team, says, “The ongoing support by Masco is critical in allowing SafeHouse Center to continue to serve over 5,000 survivors in our community. Masco’s support allows SafeHouse to continue to provide free advocacy, counseling and support group services. We truly value our partnership with Masco.”
